The project "Agricultural Soil Monitoring with Ground Penetrating Radar and Artificial Intelligence" (AGRARIAN) is a research cooperation between the Offenburg University of Applied Sciences (HSO) and the Lahore University of Management Sciences (LUMS) in Pakistan in the field of agricultural sciences with focus on sustainable solutions. Within the framework of "AGRARIAN", the possibility of analyzing soils with the help of ground penetrating radar (GPR) in combination with the application of artificial intelligence (AI) is investigated. The two-year research cooperation is funded by the German Academic Exchange Service.

On 22. July 2024, the workshop took place together with Dr. Yasir Khan (LUMS) and Dr. Asim Ali Khan (from CUI, Lahore) with students and research assistants from IUAS at Offenburg University of Applied Sciences. The "AGRARIAN" project promotes intercultural exchange and strengthens the network between HSO and LUMS. The joint research work on the socially highly relevant topic of "agricultural sciences with a focus on sustainable solutions" provides scientists and students with further professional and methodological qualifications.
